The primal cause for storytelling is…

By Limor Shiponi

Sustainability.

Just decided to go forward and fix this idea while working on a new video about storytelling and business. Mind you though it’s not only about sustaining one’s business but about sustaining mankind in the world as it has become, including business.

In an earlier post I wrote about storytelling being unique by mirroring man’s co-existence. There is no other art that derives it’s core from this notion and that ceases to exist if co-existence is absent or distorted.

Co-existence is not only nice to have. Without it we cannot sustain much. Storytelling has been an important force in sustaining mankind through the twists and turns of humanity since the moment it came to the understanding it wants to sustain a little more than the next meal and also tell stories about what happened before.

As writing I recall one of the most beautiful movies I’ve seen during the past few years – life is beautiful. Remember what the father did for his child through storytelling? that’s sustainability.
